किश्‍तवार जिले में चुनाव हेतु 376 पोलिंग पार्टी रवाना

Kishtwar 17 April 2019. As many as 376 Polling Parties have been dispatched for polling in two Assembly segments of District Kishtwar (51-Kishtwar and 52-Inderwal) which is going to polls on 18th of April 2019 under the supervision of District Election Officer (DEO)  Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana.


ARO- 51 Kishtwar (ADC) Pawan Parihar, ARO -52 Inderwal (ACR) Dr. Amir Hussain, CPO Kishtwar Mohd. Iqbal, ACD Kishtwar , Anil Chandail, CAO Kishtwar, ARTO Kishtwar, Nodal Officer SVEEP & Training, Dy. DEO Kishtwar, Nodal Officer, EVM/VVPATs, ENT Kishtwar besides concerned district Officers/Officials remain present during the occasion.


DEO informed that out of 376 polling parties,  177 polling parties were dispatched for AC-51 Kishtwar and 199 for AC-52 Inderwal of District Kishtwar for polling and in far flung areas like Marwah and Warwan polling parties were dispatched through heli service well in advance. In addition to this 26 Engineers of ECIL were also dispatched at different locations for smooth conduct of parliamentary elections 2019. He stated that adequate arrangements were put in place for smooth conduct of elections.While interacting with polling staff DEO instructed them to perform their election duty with responsibility and high spirit for ensuring free and fair election in the district.


Earlier in the morning, the Polling Parties reported at the respective dispatch centre where Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) along with Voters Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) and other election material were made available to them. Meanwhile, a training of EVM/VVPAT were also imparted to them before they left for their respective polling stations. Later, accompanied by Security personnel, the presiding Officers and other team members, the polling staff left for their respective polling station to undertake the voting process, to be held on April 18 from 7 am till 6 pm evening.


It is pertinent to mention here that in Kishtwar district, with two Assembly segments of Kishtwar and Inderwal has 181,751 electors including 93,695 males, 88,055 females, and a single transgender voter and the authorities have set up 376 polling stations across the district out of which one polling station has been identified as Women polling station  at Islamia Faridia HSS Kishtwar.
